I’m usually for the little guy who runs his/ her shop. When my wife needed batteries changed on a few of her watches, we decided to pay a visit to a little knick knack shop at Westbrook Mall. It’s a little shop selling all sorts of things like belts, lighters, bags and watches.
She went up to the counter and asked how much it would cost to change the batteries. The man behind the counter took the first watch and unscrewed the backing. He took one look at it and said it was $15 to replace. She said “no thanks, the battery costs more than the watch itself”. She asked him about the other watches and he said to her that he doesn’t play the game of taking apart watches and estimating the cost.
We told him if he couldn’t give us an estimate without taking apart the watch then the only way for him to know would be to take the watch apart. But if he refuses to take them apart to see the battery then we are at a deadlock.
Does he want our business or not? Tell me what you think. Leave me a comment.
